This album, and band in general, is like an old forest. The further in you go the denser and darker it gets. No idea why this isn't more known.
p.s. haha, formally this is the 3000th album in my collection. And great :D
The album is based on the old Itelmen fairy tale (Itelmens are one of the northern peoples of Kamchatka). The tale tells about two brothers ravens Kutkh, river and sea, and how they met and attacked each other, despite the fact that there were no reasons for enmity.
It's amazing how old fairy tales remain relevant to this day.

Great Belgian black metal with a raw production and plenty of atmosphere.
The vocals sounds like they're performed by someone who're in immense pain at times, which suits the music perfectly.
I can easily recommend all three demos from Oerheks. sardonicwrath

Gaerea's first release of "Unsettling Whispers" was in 2018, and since, they dared define a "black metal" niche of their own, they dared to walk a new path and stir shit up a bit in the realm of BM, this album is a masterpiece and a milestone proving that it can be done, provided the band can pull it off, and they did, oh they did! Gloomy, dark, post-BM sludgy whatever, it's Gaerea, and this one belongs in my BC collection, the end. sachavonkarl74
